Who are Armadillo?
Good question. Well, we are sports nuts who realised that playing regular football, field hockey and rugby was leaving us looking like the walking wounded (only sometimes walking was a lot easier said than done).
It was affecting our working lives too. And the culprit - as often as not - were the cuts and bruises down the back of the legs!
So we set about teaming up the brains that could design and produce the ideal protection. That was some time ago and it's taken until now to agree the perfect design, test the cutting edge materials, then get independent accreditation to confirm that we'd cracked it.
The PFA have given us the thumbs up. Premiership pros will soon be wearing Armadillo. And many of the other major sporting bodies are now waiting for us to complete development of a full range of body protectors so that rugby, cricket, hockey and lacrosse players can take better care of themselves too.

ONE GLOVE COMPANY
The one glove company, started in 2004 with tests and surveys into the structure materials and requirements of the modern day goalkeepers glove.
Looking at the glove market we realised there was a need for a goalkeeping glove at a more affordable price with all of the positive attributes in terms of quality of material, fit, comfort and warmth of the top brands available only at a much higher price. We surveyed the market extensively from International to Sunday league and junior keepers to find the attributes needed for us to make the most comfortable glove for all levels of the game. Many prototypes with combinations of latex thickness cut insulation material and fit were tried and tested by calling on the help from some of the most experienced players and goalkeeping coaches in the game. Finally we decided to go ahead with a 3mm roll finger model, as this would favour all levels of goalkeeper which would be suitable for all different age groups.

READING FC
Reading FC was formed on Christmas Day 1871, but did not turn professional until 1895.
They were originally nicknamed the 'Biscuitmen' after the main trade of the Town.
The Club was a founding member of the Southern League in 1894.
Though largely undistinguished, Reading did beat AC Milan 5-0 & the Italian national team -0 in 1913.
In 1926 Reading won Division Three (South) & the following season had their best FA Cup run, reaching the semi-finals where they lost to eventual winners Cardiff City.
Reading were relegated in 1931 & became a founding member of the national Division Three in 1957, where they remained until their centenary year.
In 1971 the Royals were relegated into Division Four, where they spent most of that decade.
On their way to promotion in 1979, they didn't concede a goal for 1,103 minutes-a Football League record.
In 1983 they were relegrated again & almost ceased to exist as they desprately fought off a merge with Oxford United.
They survived & former player Roger Smee became chairman. Three years later, they were back in Division Two for the first time in 55 years.
But it wasn't until John Madejski took control of the club in 1990 that Reading FC was really on it's way up. |
